Tip: Using the producer's name as the lot number will make each sample easily identifiable.
Tip: If you have have a producer that is submitting several samples and they want all the reports to go to the same email. Submit all the samples using one account and free test forms that reflect each citizens name. For example, Double S farm is submitting 2 samples to be tested. John and Joe Smith operate the farm. John and Joe are both Kentucky citizens. Fill in the sample submittal forms using the farm name (Double S Farm) and the free test forms using John Smith and Joe Smith.
Tip: There are some circumstances where 400 seeds can be accepted rather than 800 seeds; if this is needed please contact us prior to submitting the sample.
Endophyte testing is available for tall fescue and can be conducted on both live tillers and seed. The test detects the presence of the endophyte fungus only, not individual ergot alkaloids. Our Endophyte Submittal form includes additional information and should be included with your sample.
When obtaining samples carefully follow the instructions in this article: Sampling for the Tall Fescue Endophyte in Pasture or Hay Stands.
Tip: If tillers are submitted, it is best that they are collected during the active growing season. In Kentucky, that is roughly May through Oct/Nov.
