If your pet is sick, pet owners should immediately seek the care of a veterinarian. If you suspect that your pet's food may have contributed to your pet's illness, do not continue to feed your pet the suspected food.

Report a suspected Pet Food Incident to the Division

Include as much of the following information as you are able:

• Product name, type of product, and lot/batch number
• Purchase date and location where the product was purchased
• Details regarding your veterinarian's diagnosis

You may want to also consider reporting the incident to the FDA if you suspect that your pet’s food might have contributed to your pet's illness. The FDA collects information about suspected illnesses that could be related to pet food as part of a larger product surveillance to help prevent future problems.
