Kentucky's hemp program is administered by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA). This is where those interested in Kentucky's hemp industry should start.

Our Role

Our Division analyzes hemp grown in Kentucky to ensure the plants are industrial hemp and not marijuana. Inspectors from KDA obtain samples of hemp close to harvest time, dry them, and deliver them to us for analysis. We also administer a proficiency testing program for laboratories.
